Portable Waste Compactors

About Portable & Skip Compactors

A portable compactor is an efficient solution for compressing and minimising the volume of non-recyclable waste, such as food waste, production waste and general mixed waste. By using hydraulic pressure, these compactors significantly reduce the space that waste occupies – typically 4:1, but on occasions up to 10:1 , making your waste management more cost-effective.

Portable compactors help reduce the frequency of waste collections, lowering your transport costs and increasing the volume of waste collected during each service. This means fewer pickups, less disruption to your operations, and greater cost savings over time.

Designed for flexibility, portable compactors are ideal for businesses that need mobility in their waste management. They can be easily removed from your site when full, offering a convenient and streamlined waste handling solution.

Portable Compactors Uses

Portable compactors are an ideal solution for businesses dealing with wet or contaminated waste, especially when combined with a drainage system. These compactors are available in different sizes, with smaller units handled by skip trucks and larger units managed by Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) hook-lift vehicles.

Designed to fit either on the rear of a skip lorry (Skip Portable, up to 10 cubic metres) or as larger units (up to 24 cubic metres), portable compactors offer a versatile waste management solution that can easily be uplifted and emptied by a roll-on/roll-off vehicle.

Beyond reducing the frequency and cost of collections, portable compactors offer added benefits such as:

  • Fire Reduction: As waste is contained within a sealed box – thus far less suseptical to fires.
  • Odour reduction: Particularly valuable in warmer months, the enclosed design helps minimise food waste odour.
  • Vermin control: The sealed structure prevents pests from accessing waste, improving site hygiene.
  • Improved housekeeping: The compactors’ enclosed design keeps your waste area cleaner and more organised.

Our Portable Compactors

We offer two main types of portable compactors, each designed to meet different volume and space requirements:

Skip Compactors

These smaller compactors are perfect for businesses with limited space, handling around 4 cubic metres of uncompacted waste.

They can be easily moved with a skip truck, making them ideal for operations with moderate waste generation

Hook-Lift (Roll on/off)

Larger portable compactors up to 24 cubic metres of uncompacted waste, require a hook-lift vehicle for transportation.

Compacted at an average rate of 4:1 would equate to 96 cubic metres of was being moved to point of disposal, saving 3 additional transport fees.

These are better suited to businesses with higher waste volumes and the available space to accommodate a larger compactor.
