Automatic Balers

Overview

Closed end semi-automatic balers are heavy duty, built with Hardox steel floors to improve life expectancy.

Ideal for businesses producing larger volumes (5 to 20 tonnes per week) of either a bulky waste type or larger single source material.

Material

Automatic balers can bale multiple single material types at a time. For example:

  • cardboard & plastic
  • film & plastic
  • drums & Rigid plastics including bumpers & mattresses

The semi-automatic baler can produce from 3-5 bales per hour, depending on the hydraulic system and feed mechanisms.

Accessories

Automatic balers can be supplied with bespoke feed systems, to include:

  • 1100L bin lift
  • fork lift fed
  • conveyor feed
  • pneumatic feed (if needed)

Press Force

As the press force is being pushed continually towards the “closed end” door, the material becomes pre-compacted with each hydraulic stroke of the ram of the automatic baler. Resulting in a far dense bale. With the average bale weight being 500-700kg with some bales exceeding 800kg.

Shear Blades

Semi-automatic balers are fitted with a “shear blade”, which cut through material on the forward stroke. This shearing helps avoid jamming and makes regular, dense bales.

Semi-Automatic Function

Once full, the automatic baler unit stops automatically to allow the contained bale to be tied manually, by hand, before it is ejected. Automatic balers can be fitted with a GSM gateway for notification where required.

Once tied, the bales are automatically ejected with the full eject ram fitted within the machine, either onto an awaiting pallet or onto a platform to be uplifted with a suitable fork lift with a bale clamp.

Automatic Balers

Vertical baler vs Semi-Automatic

These machines can be fed up to three times quicker than a vertical baler and produce bales at least 20% bigger. This reduces handling and increase payloads for the recycling partner.

These balers offer businesses significant benefits over a vertical baler:

  • Can be continuously fed – reducing labour time considerably
  • Can be fed via conveyor, bin, lift, chute, pneumatically to reduce operative time.
  • Produce larger and denser bales resulting in less baling wire and is more optimum for storage
  • Create a cleaner working environment and enhance housekeeping on site.

WHS Semi-Automatic Balers

We supply two models of balers

  • 500HD (50 tonne force)
  • 650HD (65 tonne force)

We offer alternative hydraulic powerpacks that can speed up the cycle time.

Both balers can be tied off with either baling wire or suitable baling tape.
